Dr. Ali Sanousi
Ali A. Sanousi, MD, MBA, PhD, is a healthcare entrepreneur focused on improving the quality of care through the use information technology (IT). He is a physician executive and innovation strategist with a diverse background and experience that encompass medical practice, information technology and business administration. Dr. Ali is a certified physician informaticist and a recognized medical informatics consultant with over ten years of work experience managing cutting-edge technology for healthcare enterprises. He is an analytical thinker with expertise in business development, implementing new concepts and deploying solutions such as electronic medical records and clinical databases. He worked as a physician informaticist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center. He is currently a clinical informatics fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a Fellow-In-Residence at Harvard Innovation Lab of Harvard Business School in Allston, Massachusetts.
As a thought-leader, Dr. Ali is a frequent guest speaker and panel moderator on topics related to healthcare informatics. He serves as a member of several editorial review boards for informatics journals and he writes extensively on health IT innovation. Professionally, he is an active member in numerous professional organizations including the American Medical Informatics Association and the American College of Physician Executives, has presented papers at a variety of professional conferences and consulted for various IT companies internationally. As a health IT innovationist, Dr. Ali is passionate about healthcare transformation through IT to improve the quality of patient care. He architected and developed multiple clinical solutions including server-side, cloud-based and mobile applications. His research and business efforts are focused on healthcare business intelligence, mHealth, data analytics and big data visualization.
Dr. Ali is the founder of Veritas Analytics, a platform for Worldwide Infographic Maps of Healthcare Information Systems that he developed during his fellowship at the Division of Clinical Informatics - Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Harvard Medical School, Harvard University.
Dr. Ali holds an MD degree from King Saud University, a diploma in International Health from the Royal College of Physicians, a Certificate in Medical Informatics from Stanford University, a master's degree in medical informatics from Oregon Health & Sciences University, a Physician Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee and a PhD in Medical Informatics from Rutgers University.
